TCD Sign Florida State Standout

Port St. Lucie, Florida - As the Treasure Coast Dynamites prepare for another season, they welcome who they expect to be one of their top players: Florida State's Marta Bakowska-Mathews. They know to expect big things from Mathews, especially now that she was a part of the 2014 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship team. Additionally, she played for the Seattle Sounders women's semi-professional team in the 2014 season. With her strong offensive mindset, Mathews will be a huge asset.
During her career as a Seminole she was able to make clutch moment plays, scoring 6 game winning goals. She also was second on the team in the way of points, goals, and game-winning goals. She chose to play for the Treasure Coast Dynamites because of the way her quality of play was changed by playing for Coach Gaspard in the Omega Select International Soccer Academy prior to becoming a Seminole.
"I was shown what I was good at and was able to concentrate on those skills and gain confidence in my playing," Mathews said.
While she continues her strong soccer career, Mathews has decisions to make regarding playing for a national team. The 3 teams she has ties to are Poland, England, and Canada. While all three have admirable qualities, she is leaning towards England.
"I'm hoping to go to England and try for their team in the next 6 months," said Mathews.
We look forward to watching Mathews hone her decisive attacks while preparing for the next phase of her career as a national team player.
The Treasure Dynamites WPSL 2015 home opener will be against FC Surge on May 31 at South County Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
